Life in Cologne
Cologne is not only leading the way in biotechnology. The industrial and service metropolis is above all a liveable city because of its people, who take pride in their famous Cologne Cathedral, their numerous museums, the radio and TV stations, their football, ice hockey and basketball teams and their heartiness, which is especially shown during the Cologne Carnival. Their traditionally liberal and open spirit shapes the outlook of the multicultural metropolis.
The city is home to a number of public and private museums, the Cologne Philharmonic counts as one of the most important concert halls in Europe. Well over a hundred galleries, a lively theatre world and a vibrant club scene are also expressions of the Cologne people’s love of communication, which takes place above all in the countless bistros, beer gardens and restaurants.
